NeuroStar® Advanced Therapy is FDA-cleared for major depressive disorder in adults and as an adjunct for adolescents 15–21, and as an adjunct for adults with OCD. The most common side effect is temporary discomfort at or near the treatment site. Seizures are rare (less than 0.1% of patients). TMS is not right for people with non-removable conductive metal in or near the head. Ask your provider whether NeuroStar® is right for you.

How SPRAVATO® works differently
If your antidepressants haven’t worked, SPRAVATO® offers a different approach. Most antidepressants work by adjusting brain chemicals like serotonin and dopamine. SPRAVATO® (esketamine) works on a different chemical, glutamate, which helps brain cells communicate. Because it takes a new path, it may help people with treatment-resistant depression who haven’t found relief with other medications. It can be used on its own or alongside an oral antidepressant.
SPRAVATO® is FDA-approved for adults with treatment-resistant depression, used alone or with an oral antidepressant, and with an oral antidepressant for depressive symptoms in adults with major depressive disorder with acute suicidal thoughts or actions. It is available only at certified healthcare settings through the SPRAVATO® REMS program, where patients are monitored for at least 2 hours after each dose. SPRAVATO® can cause sedation, dissociation, breathing problems, and has potential for abuse and misuse. It is not for use in children. Individual results vary.
